The ProjectLibre application is perfect for producing project plans that adhere to the full project management methodology as defined by industry standards. The product literally means "Free Project", a testament to its open source distribution model. Although some autocorrecting software may display the name as "ProjectLiber" or "Project Liber", it is actually based on "Libre", the French word for "Free". It is an evolution of OpenProj, as stated above. ProjectLibre is a free open source tool which may be used for any project tracking purpose, commercial or personal. It is not a project management introduction although it does provide some background information about the field. The intended audience is those individuals who have project management experience and who may have used OpenProj, Microsoft Project or another tracking application in the past. This book provides both a basic understanding of ProjectLibre as well as in depth coverage of advanced topics. Using the steps shown, they may start to develop their own project plans, task lists and resource assignments for educational or business purposes quickly. Readers may read the steps or follow along with their own application. Topics are introduced with valid examples generated from actual use of ProjectLibre. The contents span more than 10 chapters and 130 pages. Such concepts as critical path, project scheduling and cost baselines are introduced.
